Adjustable Cam Chain Tensioner

The factory standard cam chain adjuster can back out on engine over-run from high rpm which can cause the cam timing to momentarily change that could result in bent valves and some serious engine damage.

Additionally, the standard hydraulic tensioner has a tendency to put too much tension on the chain guide under high rpm/ high oil pressure conditions resulting in premature wear of the chain guide

This is one area of the engine design which benefits from aftermarket intervention. Both problems can be eliminatedwith installation of this manual tensioner as, irrespective of engine conditions, the cam chain tension and the cam timing will remain consistent.
